About Mary Jean

I feel that my role as an artist is to create paintings that evoke strong feelings and emotions. Abstract art has the potential to be powerful enough to accomplish this. I have always loved color, and my art gives me the means to explore texture, shapes, and color. During the painting process, I let the paint and mood lead me to the next step as I strive to connect with the viewer. I often use products that allow me to create paintings that have an almost sculptural effect. Painting is an integral part of my life and makes each day an exciting adventure.
